Prioritising Health, Family, and Business: A Sunday Morning Walk Reflection
July 22, 2024
Sunday Morning Walk
It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, and we’re out for a walk in our local rural area, soaking in the tranquility of nature. Every day, I start my morning routine by writing down my affirmations in a little book. One affirmation that I hold dear is: "I spend quality time with Abby every week." This affirmation ensures that I always think about how I can spend meaningful time with Abby, whether it’s through simple walks like this or planning a holiday getaway.
The Power of Affirmations By writing down my affirmations daily, I program my mind to prioritise these commitments. This practice helps me ensure that I consistently make time for Abby, enhancing our relationship and creating cherished memories together. Whether it’s a weekend away or just a stroll in the countryside, it’s a conscious effort to strengthen our bond.
Setting Priorities: Health, Family, and Business Recently, I shared on Instagram my approach to prioritising different aspects of life, which I believe helps me make better decisions. My priority list is straightforward:
Health First For me, health is the foundation. By prioritising my health, everything else becomes more manageable. This morning walk ticks the health box, giving me physical activity and mental clarity. When I’m healthy, I can better care for my family and be more effective in my business endeavours.
Family Comes Next Next on my list is family. Throughout my career, I’ve had numerous opportunities to put business first, but I’ve learned that family must come before business. Family experiences and the love we share are far more valuable to me than any business success. While compromises are sometimes necessary, I always strive to ensure that family remains a priority. I’d rather be a loving family member than a rich businessperson without a supportive family.
Balancing Business Business is essential, but it comes after health and family. The success of my business is crucial as it supports my family, but it should never overshadow the importance of spending quality time with loved ones. Balancing these priorities can be challenging, but it’s a conscious effort that pays off in the long run.
Your Thoughts?
I’d love to hear your opinion on this. My affirmations focus on spending quality time with Abby, prioritising health, family, and then business. Do you think this is the right order? Let me know in the comments. Now, let’s tackle that hill!
