5 SIMPLE STEPS For Setting Up an INSTAGRAM Business Account

Gareth Manger • Aug 24, 2018

Instagram is the fastest growing social network at the moment. This means that businesses worldwide should be on there taking advantage of the growing platform and all its recent additions!

Despite Instagram’s tremendous growth, many marketers are still largely unaware of how to use it for best results. Therefore, I decided to share with you some of my best tips that I have used to build up my own following over the past months, as I explain in this video.

  1. Get focused with your title . Your identity should be clear from your title. If you believe users are going to invest time scrolling through your Instagram profile in an attempt to find out who you are and what you do, well… they won’t. Most users will leave your profile seconds after they quickly glance through your bio and the first few images which appear on top.
  2. Target the correct audience . If you are in business, then chances are you already have an idea of the kind of audience you are targeting with your products and services. Think about their demographics, interests, time schedules, and focus your content around them. What would they like to see?
  3. List the benefits for your followers . You might think the benefits of someone following you are obvious, but, in reality, they are not to everyone. Therefore, you still need to list them in your bio. Tell people exactly what they can expect from you and how often you will be posting. Those benefits should be something of value to your target audience, so think carefully before you decide! This way each and every one of your profile visitors will know why they should follow you.
  4. Provide updated contact information . This should honestly be a no-brainer, but you will be surprised by how many people actually fail to provide contact information on their profile that is up to date. Your followers should ideally have a number of different options to contact you, such as email, address, and phone number.
  5. Add a lead magnet . Building an Instagram following is great without a doubt, but the real value lies in being able to remarket to those people whenever you want. To be able to do that, you need to start building a database. Now, your followers are unlikely to voluntarily hand you their email address unless they receive something of value in return. Add to your bio a valuable resource that they can download for free by becoming a subscriber.
