Creating an Inspiring Workspace

Let’s talk about something really important for our day to day work life which we often forget about; space.

As you probably know, surroundings can have a big impact on your mood, emotions, and ultimately your productivity. As entrepreneurs, it is important that we surround ourselves with a space that inspires and motivates us to go to work every day and give our best.

Other than our own emotions, however, our workspace can influence the way others perceive us, our business and brand. Therefore, a work environment should represent the image that we want to portray and at the same time communicate our main brand values.

Things like your desk, the way that you’re positioned, decorations, lighting, the kind of music that you’ve got playing or even the scents can affect us in different ways. Personally, I have chosen to decorate my own office with things that motivate me, just as I show you in this video.

If you find yourself dreading going to work, some simple alterations to make your space feel “yours” can affect your frame of mind. Especially if they include things that have meaning and touch you in a positive way. Look for vision boards, inspiring quotes, images of dream holiday destinations, etc.

Give some thought to the environment that you work in and ask yourself the question “Is this the kind of environment that’s going to make me feel inspired and enable me to take my business to the next level?”.

I’d love to hear your comments on how you’ve designed your own workspace, what kind of things you’ve got on the walls and what motivates you in your daily work life!
